Sindh CM Orders Ban on School Van Fare Hikes Amid Fuel Price Surge

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has issued a firm directive prohibiting any increase in school van fares following the recent rise in petrol prices. This order applies to all school transport services, including those managed by schools and private vans hired by parents.

In line with the Chief Minister’s instructions, the Provincial School Education Department circulated a formal notification to both government and private educational institutions. The circular clearly states that no adjustments to pick-and-drop fees are allowed, ensuring that parents will not face additional financial pressure due to fuel cost hikes.

To support transport operators affected by the fuel price surge, the provincial government has committed to providing certain facilities and assistance. Meanwhile, all schools have been instructed to fully comply with the ban on fare increases and to submit detailed information about their transport services to the provincial authorities.

The Education Department has emphasized that failure to adhere to these regulations will result in strict legal consequences for both schools and van operators. This comprehensive approach aims to protect parents from extra expenses while maintaining transparency and oversight of school transportation services across Sindh.
