The federal government has announced plans to introduce two new residential sectors in Islamabad, aimed at offering housing solutions for government employees while promoting the city’s urban expansion.
Sectors F-12 and G-12 are slated for formal launch later this month, with residential plots available to a wide range of beneficiaries, including public sector workers. This initiative seeks to address the ongoing housing shortage and ensure systematic development within the capital.
The layout plan for Sector F-12 has already been finalized, while the design for Sector G-12 is currently in progress and expected to be completed within the month. These projects received approval from the executive board of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority last month, paving the way for their implementation.
Meanwhile, development activities are also advancing in other parts of the city, with construction underway in Sectors F-14 and F-15 following directives from the federal minister. This broader development effort underscores the government’s commitment to accelerating housing projects in Islamabad and alleviating accommodation pressures, especially for government employees.
In a significant development, the new sectors are anticipated to enhance housing accessibility and contribute positively to Islamabad’s planned urban growth strategy.
