American actress Candice King and actor Steven Krueger exchanged vows at The Chapel at High Point Farm in Tennessee in a private ceremony. Initially, the couple had planned a large wedding in Nashville later this year with family and friends, but those plans changed after King announced her pregnancy with their first child together.
King, who has two daughters, Florence and Josephine, from her previous marriage to musician Joe King of The Fray, shared the special day with a close-knit group. Both King and Krueger are known for their roles as vampires Caroline Forbes and Josh Rosza in The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off, The Originals.
In a notable development, Krueger described the wedding as a “small elopement-style weekend in Nashville” attended only by immediate family, with the larger celebration postponed to the following year. The intimate gathering included just 15 guests, among them King’s daughters and two nieces. Krueger expressed satisfaction with the scale of the event, calling it “perfect.”
King reflected on the logistical challenges, noting that the most stressful aspect was ensuring family members were comfortable and able to move between locations smoothly. She pointed out that such difficulties arise regardless of whether the wedding is a small elopement or a large event with hundreds of attendees.
Krueger highlighted their focus on what he termed the “essential trifecta: photos, flowers, and food,” and shared that they were thrilled with how the day unfolded. Addressing the unique challenges of planning a wedding while pregnant, King humorously remarked on the scarcity of wedding dresses designed to accommodate a baby bump. She admitted feeling anxious about finding an outfit that balanced a maternal look with bridal elegance, hoping to avoid appearing like the “Stay Puft Marshmallow Man” from Ghostbusters as she walked down the aisle.
