A strong earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale rattled Islamabad along with various cities across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, triggering panic among residents in these regions. The seismic event caused noticeable tremors in major urban centers including Rawalpindi and Peshawar, as well as surrounding localities.

Notably, the tremors extended across multiple districts within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces. Areas such as Kohat, Bajaur, Swabi, Balakot, Khyber, and Shabqadar experienced the shaking, alongside prominent cities like Lahore, Sialkot, Mardan, and Dera Ismail Khan. Additional reports confirmed that residents in Murree, Sargodha, Attock, and Faisalabad also felt the earthquake’s impact.

In a significant development, the National Seismic Monitoring Centre identified the earthquake’s epicenter in Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region, known for its seismic activity. This area frequently generates earthquakes that are felt across Pakistan and neighboring countries, highlighting the ongoing geological volatility of the region.

At the time of reporting, there were no immediate indications of casualties or structural damage resulting from the quake. Authorities have yet to release further information or updates regarding the situation. Meanwhile, residents remain alert as aftershocks could potentially follow this substantial seismic event.
