    Multiple LPG and Petrol Shipments Arrive at Port Qasim to Secure Supply

    The government has intensified efforts to stabilize the energy supply, with several shipments of LPG and petrol arriving at Port Qasim, officials confirmed on Thursday. Authorities emphasized that there is no shortage of LPG or petroleum products nationwide, and additional vessels are expected in the coming days to maintain a consistent supply.

    the port administration, the vessel PCG Pericles arrived from Oman carrying over 3,800 tonnes of LPG and is currently docked at the Port Qasim outer terminal. Additionally, the oil tanker MT Virgo is anchored with approximately 3,800 tonnes of petrol. Another ship, the Navigator Aries, has reached Port Qasim from Iraq, transporting 11,136 tonnes of LPG.

    Meanwhile, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has taken action against unjustified increases in LPG prices. A spokesperson announced that a nationwide crackdown will target entities involved in overcharging consumers. Officials reiterated that fuel supplies remain stable and sufficient to meet domestic demand.

    Earlier, it was confirmed that Pakistan holds adequate stocks of petrol and diesel to satisfy domestic requirements for April and the following months. This update was provided during a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, which reviewed the country’s petroleum reserves.

    Besides assessing fuel stocks, the meeting also evaluated preparedness in response to the evolving situation in the Middle East. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the current supply status and instructed relevant ministries and authorities to maintain close coordination, ensure uninterrupted availability, and take all necessary measures to protect supplies over the coming weeks.

    The meeting included federal ministers for petroleum and economic affairs, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, senior federal secretaries, as well as chief secretaries and officials from the provinces.
