Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday commended the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for its exemplary professionalism, sacrifices, and critical role in safeguarding the nation’s airspace. Marking Pakistan Air Force Day on September 7, he highlighted the force’s consistent demonstration of skill and dominance during various conflicts.

Shehbaz emphasized the PAF’s proud legacy of courage, valor, and dedication, noting that it has always risen to the nation’s call with unwavering resolve. Reflecting on the September 1965 war, he praised the aviators for their passion and determination in defending Pakistan’s aerial frontiers, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. He described their efforts as a source of national pride and paid tribute to the martyrs for their supreme sacrifices.

Pakistan observes Air Force Day annually on September 7, coinciding with Defence and Martyrs’ Day, to honor the PAF’s significant contributions during the 1965 conflict with India. In a significant development, the prime minister also acknowledged the PAF’s pivotal role in the Marka-e-Haq operation, the military confrontation with India from April 22 to May 10, 2025.

During this recent conflict, the PAF was instrumental in Pakistan’s military response, employing integrated multi-domain capabilities in close coordination with other armed services. Shehbaz attributed the success to bold leadership, tactical brilliance of combat crews, meticulous planning, and the effective use of modernized and indigenously developed warfare technologies.

He lauded the PAF for upholding its historic reputation of overcoming numerical disadvantages, describing this as a defining characteristic of the force. The prime minister extended his best wishes for the continued professional growth of the Pakistan Air Force, expressing confidence in its readiness to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty and airspace in the future.

Concluding his message, Shehbaz Sharif expressed patriotic slogans, celebrating the enduring spirit of the Pakistan Air Force and the nation.
