Four Terrorists Killed in Peshawar CTD Intelligence Operation

In a significant development, four terrorists were eliminated during a targeted intelligence-based operation carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Peshawar. The operation took place at a graveyard located in Mehr Gul Kalay, Mera Kchori area of the city. Security officials confirmed the success of the mission, which aimed to disrupt terrorist activities in the region.

During the encounter, the CTD recovered an arsenal of weapons from the deceased militants, including three Kalashnikov rifles, a pistol, a hand grenade, and seven magazines. Notably, one of the terrorists was identified as a resident of Nangarhar, Afghanistan, and authorities also found an Afghan refugee card on him, indicating cross-border involvement in the plot.

Meanwhile, the CTD has launched a comprehensive search and pursuit operation to apprehend additional terrorists who managed to escape the scene. This comes amid heightened security concerns following a prior threat alert issued about the infiltration of terrorists from Afghanistan into Pakistan. The alert specifically warned that three suicide bombers had crossed into Pakistan via the Khyber district route with the intent to carry out attacks.

Authorities remain vigilant as they continue to track down the fleeing suspects, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to prevent any potential terrorist activities in the area. This operation underscores the CTD’s commitment to maintaining security and countering terrorism threats in Peshawar and its surroundings.
