Post-mortem reveals multiple injuries in Hina Javed murder case

The post-mortem examination of Hina Javed, who was found dead in Rawalpindi’s Lalkurti area, disclosed multiple injuries on her body. The report detailed a fractured neck bone along with marks of trauma on her ribs and hip bone. Her body was discovered in a bathroom at her residence within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station.

Following the discovery, authorities arrested her husband Faisal Asghar and his employee Zeeshan on suspicion of murder. Hina had been married to Faisal for nine months. Initial police statements indicated that Hina was allegedly strangled by her husband.

In a significant development, the post-mortem also revealed that both the pericardium and the heart contained blood. The examination was conducted by Dr. Maria Khalid approximately 12 hours after death. DNA samples from the victim were collected and dispatched to a laboratory, alongside other forensic evidence, to establish the precise cause of death. However, the report noted that the cause could not be definitively determined at this stage.

Lady Constable Rafia Tabassum was responsible for collecting samples for the post-mortem and forensic analyses. The findings surfaced a day after a local Rawalpindi court granted police a three-day physical remand for the suspects.

During the hearing, the police presented Faisal Asghar and Zeeshan before the magistrate, requesting custody to further the investigation. The officer in charge reported the recovery of a rope and wire believed to have been used in the crime. The magistrate approved the request, placing both suspects in police custody for three days.

Meanwhile, police confirmed that Faisal Asghar’s father has also become part of the inquiry, with his statement duly recorded.
