Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in London for an official visit to the United Kingdom, scheduled from August 24 to 28. Upon his arrival at Heathrow Airport, he was welcomed by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK.
During this five-day visit, Dar is set to engage in discussions with the British Foreign Secretary and other senior officials. A significant part of his agenda includes a meeting with the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation, where the focus will be on regional maritime security issues.
Additionally, the deputy prime minister will hold talks with the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, further strengthening diplomatic ties.
In a related development, Ishaq Dar recently held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan. The two discussed various matters of mutual interest, including preparations for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Heads of State Summit in Kyrgyzstan.
Both Pakistan and Uzbekistan reaffirmed their commitment to advancing shared bilateral priorities and agreed to meet again on the sidelines of the SCO summit to further these discussions.
