The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its latest player rankings for Test and ODI formats, highlighting Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s return to the top 10 in Test batting.
Babar Azam improved his position by five places, moving from 15th to 10th ahead of Pakistan’s second Test against the West Indies. This marks a significant comeback for the captain in the Test batting charts.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s emerging batsman Abdullah Shafique made a remarkable leap, climbing 25 spots to reach 32nd in the Test batting rankings. His progress reflects his growing impact in the international arena.
On the bowling front, spinner Sajid Khan also advanced five places to 30th in the Test bowling rankings after a strong showing in the away series against the West Indies. Additionally, he rose five places to 32nd in the Test all-rounders’ rankings, underscoring his all-round contributions.
Notably, Australia’s Travis Head maintained his position as the top-ranked Test batsman. India’s Jasprit Bumrah continued to hold the No. 1 spot among Test bowlers, while Ravindra Jadeja remained the leading Test all-rounder.
In the ODI rankings, Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz climbed three places to 11th, and Hashmatullah Shahidi moved up four spots to 50th among batters. Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan further solidified his dominance by retaining the top position in the ODI bowling rankings.
