Petrol Price Reduced by Rs1.70, Diesel Rate Increased in Latest Revision

The federal government has introduced new adjustments to the prices of petroleum products, marking a notable shift in fuel costs across the country. In a recent update, the price of petrol has been decreased by Rs1.70 per litre, setting the new retail price at Rs325.92 per litre. This reduction comes as part of ongoing efforts to manage fuel affordability amid fluctuating global oil markets.

Conversely, the cost of high-speed diesel (HSD) has experienced an upward revision. The price has increased by Rs1.39 per litre, pushing the new rate to Rs382.25 per litre. This rise reflects changes in supply dynamics and international crude oil prices, which often influence domestic fuel pricing strategies.

These revised rates will take effect from tonight and will remain applicable until the government issues the next price notification, which is anticipated to be released tomorrow. The adjustments highlight the government’s balancing act between easing the burden on petrol consumers and managing the economic implications of diesel pricing, which affects transportation and industrial sectors.

In a significant development for consumers and businesses alike, these changes underscore the volatility in the energy sector and the government’s responsive approach to pricing. Market watchers and the public await the forthcoming announcement for further clarity on fuel prices moving forward.
