The Board of Directors of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL) has sanctioned a bonus equivalent to one basic salary for its employees during its 102nd meeting, marking the first session following the airline’s privatisation.
This decision underscores the new management’s approach to prioritising its workforce as a fundamental element in the national carrier’s revival and development efforts. The bonus is designed to reward employees for their dedication, boost morale, and inspire them to actively contribute to expanding flight operations and enhancing service quality.
The board reaffirmed its commitment to making employees a cornerstone of PIA’s turnaround strategy. Approving this bonus at the inaugural meeting after privatisation highlights the management’s focus on improving employee welfare and restoring their confidence in the airline’s future.
Management expressed optimism about building a robust, efficient, and globally competitive airline, with employees playing a pivotal role in this transformation. The spokesperson described the bonus approval as a strong and positive initial move by the new leadership.
This initiative is expected to elevate staff morale, which in turn should lead to better operational performance, improved customer service, and increased institutional stability. The board views this step as crucial in advancing PIA’s objectives of revival and sustainable growth.
