Education boards throughout Punjab announced the names of the top scorers in the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) annual examinations on Wednesday, a day prior to the official release of the matriculation results. Several boards including Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, and Multan declared their position holders ahead of the comprehensive results expected on Thursday, August 6.
In Lahore, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) reported that approximately 285,800 students participated in this year’s matric exams. Amina Mehboob, a student from a private school in Pattoki, Kasur district, secured the overall top position with an impressive 1,192 out of 1,200 marks. The second position went to a student from Danish High School in Rajanpur, who scored 1,191 marks, while Azba Javed from Johar Town, Lahore, claimed third place. In the boys’ arts group, Muhammad Abdullah topped with 1,126 marks, followed by Muhammad Bilal Baig with 1,112, and Imad Hafeez with 1,109 marks.
The Faisalabad board named Amina Salahuddin as the overall topper with 1,191 marks. Rameen Fatima earned second place with 1,190 marks, and Muhammad Raif Abdul Ahad secured third with 1,189 marks. Notably, Raif Abdul Ahad led the boys’ science group, while Amina Salahuddin was first in the girls’ science group. Muhammad Saim Ali topped the boys’ general group, and Insharah took first place in the girls’ general group.
In Bahawalpur, Abdul Haseeb of Government Abbasia Higher Secondary School achieved the highest overall marks at 1,186. Another student from the same institution, Muzammil Bilal, earned second place with 1,184 marks. Javeria Fatima and Iman Fatima Malik jointly secured third position with 1,183 marks, highlighting the dominance of Government Abbasia Higher Secondary School, which claimed both first and second positions overall.
The Dera Ghazi Khan board announced Abdullah Saleem from Layyah as the top scorer with 1,191 marks. Meer Mujtaba from Taunsa Sharif followed closely with 1,190 marks. Additionally, Farwah Ahmed of Muzaffargarh, Meerab Zahra of Layyah, and Syed Muhammad Joon Abbas from Layyah shared third place, each scoring 1,189 marks. Board Chairman Professor Dr. Abdul Rauf extended congratulations to the position holders and their families for their outstanding achievements.
The Gujranwala board declared Adina Rashid and Siddiqa Almas as joint first position holders, both securing 1,190 marks. Zain Akram took second place with 1,188 marks, while Muhammad Ahmed finished third with 1,187 marks. A ceremony to honor these achievers is scheduled in Sialkot on Thursday, with Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat as the chief guest. The minister is also expected to formally announce the matriculation results during the event.
Meanwhile, the Multan board revealed its top performers ahead of the official detailed results release at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Mehreen Rasool attained the overall first position with 1,190 marks, followed by Faiqa Mehboob with 1,188. Humna Ibrahim, Khadija Chaudhry, and Arsalna Fatima jointly secured third place with 1,187 marks each. In the boys’ science group, Hamza Imran and Abdul Moeed shared first position with 1,184 marks, while Samiullah came second with 1,180 marks. Abdul Hadi, Muhammad Yahya, and Arsal Ehsan jointly held third with 1,179 marks.
In the girls’ science group, Mehreen Rasool led, followed by Faiqa Mehboob in second place, and Humna Ibrahim, Khadija Chaudhry, and Arsalna Fatima sharing third. The boys’ arts group was topped by Muhammad Waqas with 1,089 marks, followed by Faizan and Muhammad Mughni. Tanzila Abbas secured first place in the girls’ arts group with 1,123 marks, while Amina Ashiq and Sitara Bibi jointly took second position with 1,121 marks. Tayyaba and Fazilat Fatima shared third place with 1,116 marks.
Each year, Punjab’s nine education boards conduct the annual matriculation examinations, announcing position holders a day before the full results. These examinations serve as a critical milestone for students aiming to gain admission to intermediate colleges across the province.
