The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar announced the annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination results on Tuesday, revealing that girls secured the top three positions in the science group. The overall pass percentage for Class 10 stood at 70.15 percent.

In the science group, Umama Ali achieved the highest marks with 1,182, followed closely by Syeda Atiqa with 1,178 marks and Hareem Khan with 1,177 marks. Meanwhile, in the arts group, Muhammad Abu Zar claimed the first position by scoring 1,088 marks. Saira Zafar earned the second spot with 1,074 marks, while Muhammad Sheikh Hamdan secured third place with 1,062 marks.

In a significant development within the special candidates’ category, Mehmood Ayaz topped the exams with 1,060 marks. Rabia Bibi came in second with 1,052 marks, and Muhammad Azan Khan finished third with 1,050 marks.

The board reported that out of 95,496 students who appeared for the Class 10 exams, 66,988 passed, resulting in a success rate of 70.15 percent. However, 27,788 candidates did not pass. For Class 9, 57,847 out of 97,950 candidates were promoted to the next grade, reflecting a pass percentage of 59.06 percent. Notably, over 40,000 students failed to qualify for promotion to Class 10.

The matriculation examinations conducted by the Peshawar education board are among the largest public exams in Pakistan, serving as a critical benchmark for admission into higher secondary education. Thousands of students from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participate annually under this board, which is one of the largest examination authorities in the province.

The results were announced during a formal ceremony attended by students, parents, and board officials. The event also included an awards presentation recognizing the top-performing students in the science, arts, and special candidates’ categories.
