ASI Accused of Sexual Assault on Mentally Disabled Girl in Lahore Police Station

In a disturbing incident in Lahore, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) named Imran has been accused of sexually assaulting a mentally disabled girl inside the Ghaziabad police station. The girl was reportedly brought from her home to the police station on a motorcycle by the accused. Once inside, she was taken into a room where the alleged assault occurred. The ASI had informed the girl’s family that she was needed in connection with a case, which led to her being brought to the station.

This incident has raised serious concerns about the conduct and supervision within the police station. In response, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took immediate action by suspending the entire staff of the Ghaziabad police station. This includes the station house officer (SHO), two sub-inspectors, eight assistant sub-inspectors, and a total of 78 personnel. The suspension also covers the front desk staff, highlighting the extent of administrative failure.

The DIG emphasized that the suspension was due to poor oversight and the failure of the police officials to fulfill their administrative duties. He reiterated that all activities within a police station must be under the direct supervision of the SHO to ensure accountability and prevent such incidents. This move reflects a broader concern about maintaining discipline and safeguarding vulnerable individuals within law enforcement facilities.

In a significant development following the suspensions, Ali Zaib Dastgir has been appointed as the new SHO of the Ghaziabad police station. This change in leadership aims to restore order and improve the management of the police station, ensuring better protection for citizens and stricter adherence to protocols in the future.
