Fifteen security personnel lost their lives following a terrorist assault on a police checkpost in Tank district, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing described the attack as a cowardly act by terrorists who targeted the checkpost with an explosive-laden vehicle, causing significant damage to the infrastructure. The assault resulted in the deaths of 12 Pakistan Army soldiers, two police officers, and one forest department official.
In response, security forces acted swiftly, engaging the attackers and successfully killing 12 terrorists during the counter-operation. Meanwhile, a search operation is ongoing in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining militants.
In a significant development, the ISPR emphasized that the ongoing campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam will persist until all externally supported terrorism is eradicated.
