In a brazen daylight robbery in Peshawar, armed assailants made off with Rs178 million from a gold trader, police confirmed. The incident unfolded within the jurisdiction of the local police station when the suspects, riding motorcycles, intercepted the trader and forcibly seized the cash before fleeing the scene.

the official First Information Report (FIR), the trader had recently sold 488 grams of gold and was carrying the proceeds inside their vehicle. The robbery occurred as the trader was purchasing goods from a nearby shop, making them vulnerable to the sudden attack. The suspects brandished firearms to intimidate the victim and swiftly took possession of the large sum of money.

Following the incident, authorities promptly registered a case and launched an investigation aimed at tracking down the perpetrators. Police teams are actively gathering evidence, including reviewing surveillance footage from the area, to identify and apprehend those responsible for the daring heist.

This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by traders in the region, particularly those dealing with high-value commodities such as gold. Law enforcement agencies have assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to bring the criminals to justice and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
