The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has authorized mobile network providers to increase the prices of selected call and data packages by as much as 33%. This adjustment affects a variety of bundles, including daily, weekly, fortnightly, and monthly plans.
In a recent update, the regulator published revised tariff details for 15 hybrid and data-only packages on its official website. Alongside the new pricing, the PTA has enhanced consumer information to assist users in comparing offers from different telecom operators more effectively.
Under the new pricing scheme, monthly call and data packages have seen increases of up to Rs500. Similarly, 15-day bundles have become up to Rs300 costlier. Weekly hybrid packages have experienced price hikes reaching Rs130, while three-day packages have risen by up to Rs21. Two-day packages have increased by as much as Rs20, and one-day hybrid packages have gone up by Rs5.
The PTA’s updated tariff sheets provide the latest prices for existing packages offered by mobile companies, including comprehensive details on each package’s validity, pricing, and benefits, presented on a quarterly basis.
Notably, the regulator emphasized that the improved consumer awareness section is designed to make it easier for users to compare packages across different mobile operators. Promoting transparency within the telecommunications sector and protecting consumer rights remain top priorities for the PTA.
