Fayyaz Ahmed, an employee of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) and the son of prominent journalist Sohail Sangi, has been reported missing by his family after losing contact with him since Monday evening. The family revealed that Fayyaz left his workplace around 6pm on Monday but has not been heard from since then, sparking serious concerns about his safety and whereabouts.

His phone has remained switched off, which has heightened the anxiety of his relatives and friends. In response to the alarming situation, the family promptly informed senior police officials, including the Sindh Inspector General, as well as the relevant Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). They have also filed a formal written complaint to ensure that the case receives immediate attention from law enforcement agencies.

In a significant development, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has voiced its deep concern regarding Fayyaz’s disappearance. The commission highlighted that Fayyaz is not only a Nadra officer but also the son of Sohail Sangi, a member of the HRCP Council. They have urged the Sindh government to accelerate efforts to locate him and guarantee his safe return, emphasizing the urgency and gravity of the situation.

This incident has drawn widespread attention, reflecting broader concerns about the safety of public servants and the need for swift action in missing person cases. Authorities continue to investigate, while the family and human rights organizations remain hopeful for a positive resolution in the near future.
