A Turkish Airlines flight en route to Islamabad was forced to make an emergency landing at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku after encountering a technical issue while flying over Azerbaijani airspace. The Airbus A330 experienced a disruption in its Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals, prompting the pilot to declare an emergency as a precaution.

The flight, TK-710, had departed from Istanbul and was scheduled to arrive at Islamabad International Airport at 3:35 pm Pakistan Standard Time. Upon detecting the signal failure, the pilot requested diversion to the nearest safe airport, following instructions from air traffic control.

In a significant development, the aircraft landed safely in Baku, where all passengers and crew disembarked without injury. They were then escorted to the airport terminal and provided with necessary assistance. Meanwhile, an engineering team has begun a thorough inspection and repair of the aircraft to address the technical fault and prepare for the continuation of the journey.
