The Government of Balochistan has implemented a significant administrative overhaul by dissolving the former Kalat Division and establishing two new divisions: Khuzdar and Lasbela. Alongside this restructuring, a new district named Wadh has been created to enhance local governance.
the official notification, Lasbela Division will be headquartered in Uthal. The newly formed Khuzdar Division will encompass the districts of Khuzdar, Surab, Kalat, and the newly established Wadh district. Notably, Wadh district has been carved out from Khuzdar district, with Nal designated as its administrative center. This district will include the areas of Wadh, Nal, and Ornach.
In a related change, the former Shaheed Sikandarabad district has been renamed Surab district. Additionally, Zehri tehsil has been detached from Khuzdar and incorporated into Surab district. The administrative boundaries of Khuzdar district have also been expanded to include Zaidi, Baghbana, Moola, and Karkh. Importantly, Karkh has been elevated from a sub-tehsil to a full tehsil, reflecting its increased administrative significance.
Meanwhile, Kalat district will maintain its current boundaries, which include Kalat, Khaliqabad, Mangochar, Johan, Gazg, and other localities. This preservation ensures continuity amid the broader administrative changes.
With the issuance of this notification, the formal abolition of the Kalat Division is complete, marking a major milestone in Balochistan’s administrative reorganization efforts aimed at improving governance and regional management.
