President Asif Ali Zardari and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov on Tuesday reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening bilateral relations, expanding economic collaboration, and improving regional connectivity. During delegation-level talks, President Zardari emphasized the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, grounded in shared faith, history, and cultural bonds.

Currently on a four-day official visit to Kyrgyzstan, President Zardari highlighted the importance of further enhancing cooperation by boosting trade, increasing direct flight connections, and exploring new areas of partnership. This visit marks the first by a Pakistani president to Kyrgyzstan in 21 years, symbolizing a significant milestone in the countries’ relationship.

Notably, this engagement follows President Japarov’s successful visit to Pakistan in December 2025, reflecting a continuous upward trend in high-level interactions between the two nations. President Zardari stressed the need for neighbors to collaborate closely to achieve mutual prosperity and congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027–2028 term, recognizing it as a testament to the country’s constructive role in fostering peace and multilateral cooperation.

He expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to work alongside Kyrgyzstan on regional and global matters, recalling the historic Silk Route that linked the two countries and expressing confidence in further strengthening their longstanding relationship. President Zardari also underscored Pakistan’s intent to increase trade by providing quality products at competitive prices and called for enhanced collaboration in industry, research, innovation, and advanced technology. He emphasized investing in youth to build a peaceful and prosperous future through joint efforts.

In response, President Sadyr Japarov reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to its brotherly ties with Pakistan and its determination to elevate bilateral cooperation. He confirmed Kyrgyzstan’s dedication to implementing the CASA-1000 project and expanding partnership in the energy sector. Additionally, President Japarov highlighted plans to broaden collaboration in agriculture, textiles, mining, halal industry, healthcare, information technology, science, education, and tourism.

Both countries enjoy warm and fraternal relations, rooted in shared history, faith, culture, and common goals for peace, connectivity, and prosperity across Central and South Asia.
