Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently met with Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, the Acting Governor of the Makkah Region, to reaffirm Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing its longstanding and fraternal relationship with Saudi Arabia. The meeting was also attended by prominent Saudi royals, including Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, and Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud, Governor of Taif.

During the discussions, Naqvi expressed appreciation for the excellent arrangements made by the Saudi authorities for Pakistani Umrah and Hajj pilgrims. In response, the Saudi delegation emphasized the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to its ties with Pakistan and assured full cooperation in various areas.

In a significant development, the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation reached an agreement supported by Prince Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, who welcomed the initiative and pledged full backing for the construction of Jeddah’s first international-standard cricket stadium. This move marks a notable step in advancing bilateral sports cooperation.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia formalized their security collaboration by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Riyadh. The agreement, signed by Minister Naqvi and Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, sets a framework for cooperation between the two countries’ interior ministries. It encompasses scientific research, training programs, exchange of expertise, joint initiatives, and institutional capacity building.

Prior to the signing, the ministers engaged in talks focused on enhancing bilateral security cooperation and coordination mechanisms. This MoU builds upon the already close partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in security, trade, and investment sectors, providing a structured approach to deepen collaboration in research, training, and institutional development.
