US Central Command announced that the airstrikes focused on missile and drone storage facilities as well as coastal radar stations. They later released footage depicting explosions at the targeted sites. A US official confirmed the operation had concluded.
Meanwhile, Iran reported that a projectile hit an area near a pier in Sirik, located in southern Iran. Iranian naval forces claimed to have retaliated by striking US military positions in the region, though Tehran did not specify which targets were affected.
Iranian state media initially reported an explosion at the port of Sirik but subsequently stated that the port remained undamaged and continued normal operations. The Revolutionary Guards asserted that their navy had attacked locations used by US forces and issued a warning of a wider response to any further aggression.
The ceasefire agreement reportedly grants Iran control over maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian authorities said they fired warning shots and missiles at vessels that breached regulations within the waterway.
In a related development, Israel and Lebanon reached an agreement aimed at ending hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. The accord calls for Hezbollah’s disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanon. However, Hezbollah declared it would not comply with the terms.
US Vice President JD Vance affirmed that the United States had upheld the ceasefire with Iran and warned that any violence would be met with force. Prior to the strikes, oil prices declined as tankers exited the strait, and Saudi Aramco resumed crude shipments at its Ras Tanura terminal.
