Religious scholars and speakers are delivering sermons that emphasize the life, teachings, and unwavering commitment of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), while reflecting on the profound significance and lessons derived from the tragedy of Karbala. Additionally, processions featuring Alam, Taazia, and Zuljanah are organized to commemorate the martyrs and their enduring dedication to Islam.
In a significant development, authorities have implemented extensive security arrangements nationwide to ensure the peaceful observance of Youm-e-Ashur and to prevent any untoward incidents during the commemorations.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have urged the nation to embrace the timeless message of Karbala by fostering values such as truth, justice, patience, unity, inter-sect harmony, and tolerance. In his message, President Zardari described Youm-e-Ashur as one of the most important days in Islamic history, serving as a reminder of sacrifice, perseverance, truthfulness, and steadfastness.
He highlighted that the tragedy of Karbala offers a perpetual lesson demonstrating that truth, justice, integrity, and human dignity must never be sacrificed in the face of falsehood and oppression. The president called on citizens to embody righteousness, patience, selflessness, and service to humanity in both personal and collective life. He also appealed for promoting peace, inter-sect harmony, tolerance, and brotherhood during Ashura, cautioning against rumors and provocative conduct, and emphasizing the need to strengthen national unity.
President Zardari prayed for divine guidance for the nation to comprehend the true message of Karbala and to lead the Muslim Ummah towards unity, peace, and prosperity.
In his message on the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Ashura offers enduring lessons in faith, patience, sacrifice, truth, and social reform. He noted that the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions remains a lasting example of standing resolutely for justice, righteousness, and human dignity against oppression and tyranny.
The prime minister called upon the nation to promote unity, tolerance, inter-sect harmony, and mutual respect, urging religious scholars, spiritual leaders, media, and youth to disseminate the authentic message of Karbala. He also pledged to uphold truth and justice while safeguarding the rights of the vulnerable and marginalized, concluding with prayers for peace, stability, and unity for Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah.
