A man lost his life on Thursday after an improvised explosive device (IED) concealed on a motorcycle exploded in Ormara, a coastal town located in Balochistan’s Gwadar district. The victim was identified as Raja, a resident of Makola tehsil in Pasni.
Police revealed that Raja had spent the previous night as a guest at the home of Syed Muheem Jan. The explosion occurred on Thursday morning as Raja started the motorcycle to begin his journey back. The device detonated immediately, killing him instantly at the scene.
Following the blast, law enforcement officials arrived promptly, securing the area and initiating a forensic investigation. Authorities are working to gather evidence and uncover the circumstances behind the explosion, aiming to identify those responsible for the attack.
Notably, Pakistan has experienced an increase in terrorist incidents, especially in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, since the Afghan Taliban assumed power in 2021. In response, Pakistan launched “Operation Ghazab lil-Haq,” which resulted in the deaths of numerous Afghan Taliban militants and their allies, with many more injured.
In a significant development in October 2025, border clashes intensified after the Afghan Taliban and allied militants launched unprovoked assaults on Pakistani border posts. Despite multiple rounds of negotiations, both nations have failed to reach a resolution, largely due to the Afghan Taliban regime’s unwillingness to act against terrorist groups operating from their territory.
