In a significant development, the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards successfully intercepted a massive drug shipment near the coastal area of Pishukan, close to Gwadar. This operation was carried out in close coordination with the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC), highlighting the effectiveness of intelligence-sharing among maritime security agencies.

The seizure involved 1,500 kilograms of hashish and 500 kilograms of ice, with the total estimated value of the narcotics reaching an astonishing USD 215 million. These drugs were reportedly being transported via the Arabian Sea, destined for international markets, underscoring the ongoing challenges posed by maritime drug trafficking in the region.

Following the interception, the confiscated narcotics were promptly handed over to the Pakistan Coast Guards to initiate further legal proceedings. This operation not only disrupts a significant supply chain but also demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to combating drug smuggling through its coastal waters.

Maritime security forces continue to enhance their surveillance and intelligence capabilities to prevent such illicit activities. The collaboration between the Navy, Coast Guards, and JMICC serves as a critical component in safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime borders and curbing the flow of illegal substances that threaten regional stability and security.
