Pakistan’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Salman Athar, held a meeting with Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar on Monday to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and deepen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Ambassador Athar presented a letter from Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening ties with Beirut. The discussion centered on identifying new opportunities for collaboration, particularly in security, interior affairs, and institutional engagement.

Both officials reviewed the current status of their countries’ relations and highlighted the importance of regular high-level interactions to maintain diplomatic momentum. Ambassador Athar emphasized Pakistan’s eagerness to develop structured cooperation between the interior ministries, which he believes would be mutually beneficial.

Minister Al-Hajjar acknowledged Pakistan’s ongoing support and expressed interest in expanding cooperation into additional sectors. Meanwhile, the conversation also covered regional security concerns, with both sides reaffirming their dedication to promoting peace and stability in the region.

They agreed that close coordination between Pakistan and Lebanon is essential for addressing shared challenges and fostering long-term stability across the Middle East and South Asia.
