Traffic Diversions Announced for Fourth Muharram Procession in Islamabad

The Islamabad Traffic Police have released a detailed traffic advisory and diversion plan ahead of the Fourth Muharram procession scheduled in the Bhara Kahu area. The procession will commence from the residence of Jalal Hussain in Bhara Kahu and proceed through the Bari Imam locality, ultimately concluding at Imambargah Rabi Risalat on Murree Road.

To facilitate the smooth flow of the procession and safeguard public safety, several traffic diversions will be enforced along the designated route. Specifically, traffic on Murree Road will be redirected between the Omaniya U-Turn and the CDI U-Turn. Additional diversions will also be implemented near the Malpur Bypass on Murree Road to manage vehicular movement effectively.

In a significant development to reduce commuter inconvenience, alternative routes have been suggested. Travelers moving from Bhara Kahu towards Kohsar Block are encouraged to use Shahpur Road. Likewise, motorists arriving in Islamabad from Murree are advised to take Shahpur Road as an alternate path.

Meanwhile, those traveling from Islamabad towards Murree are recommended to use the bypass road to avoid congestion and road closures linked to the procession. This measure aims to maintain traffic fluidity despite the event-related restrictions.

For ongoing updates on traffic conditions, road closures, and diversions, citizens are urged to monitor the official social media channels of the Islamabad Traffic Police or listen to FM 92.4. These sources will provide timely information to assist commuters during the procession period.
