The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially declared that the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for 2026 will take place on August 16. This essential exam is required for students aspiring to enroll in MBBS and BDS programs throughout Pakistan.
The test will commence simultaneously at 10:00 am across the country. The PMDC has coordinated with various public sector universities to manage the examination process within their respective provinces and regions.
In Punjab, the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, will be responsible for conducting the test. Candidates in Sindh will take the exam under the supervision of Sukkur IBA University. Meanwhile, Khyber Medical University (KMU) in Peshawar will oversee the test in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
For Balochistan, the Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences in Quetta will handle the arrangements. Notably, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University in Islamabad has been assigned to administer the exam for candidates from the federal capital, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as an international testing center located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Regarding registration, the online portal will open on June 22, 2026. Students can apply under the regular fee category until July 8, 2026. A late registration period will be available until July 13, 2026, for those who miss the initial deadline.
The fee for domestic test centers is set at Rs9,000 for regular registration, increasing to Rs13,000 during the late registration phase. For international candidates, the regular fee is Rs45,000, rising to Rs55,000 for late applicants. The PMDC has emphasized that all fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
