Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with British Deputy Foreign Secretary Hamish Falconer on Tuesday to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments, and opportunities for deeper cooperation, especially in security and institutional capacity-building.

During the talks, the British official praised Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional stability and acknowledged its role in recent diplomatic understandings among global powers, describing these contributions as constructive for peace. He highlighted the significant roles played by Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Field Marshal in advancing peace initiatives, noting that the Iran-US agreement had positioned Pakistan as a responsible participant in global peace efforts.

Mohsin Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with the United Kingdom across various sectors, with a particular focus on policing and institutional training. He underscored ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking impartially and reiterated the government’s determination to dismantle organized criminal networks.

Both parties agreed to broaden cooperation in law enforcement training and capacity development. They also expressed a mutual commitment to tackling the issue of fraudulent student visas through coordinated actions.

Addressing security concerns, the interior minister briefed the British delegation on challenges posed by terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory. He called on Afghan authorities to prevent their land from being used as a base for terrorism against neighboring countries.

The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to sustain close collaboration on security matters, migration management, and regional peace initiatives, reinforcing the partnership between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
