Eleven Pakistani enterprises have been chosen to participate in the 2026 cohort of the Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) Pakistan, a UK-funded programme designed to assist climate-focused businesses in securing investments and expanding solutions that facilitate the country’s shift towards a low-carbon economy.
The selected companies represent a range of industries, including renewable energy, sustainable transport, waste management, circular economy, agriculture, construction, and financial inclusion. This initiative forms part of the United Kingdom’s broader commitment to enhancing climate resilience, promoting green growth, and fostering private-sector-driven sustainable development within Pakistan.
Globally, the Climate Finance Accelerator has supported over 230 projects and has helped unlock more than USD 500 million in investments. Since its launch in Pakistan in 2022, the programme has facilitated financing of up to $40 million for climate-related projects across the country.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, highlighted the dual challenge and opportunity Pakistan faces regarding climate change. She emphasized that while the country is highly vulnerable to climate impacts, it also possesses the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit necessary to develop effective solutions. Marriott stated, “Through the Climate Finance Accelerator, the UK is enabling promising Pakistani businesses to transform their ambitions into tangible investments, supporting job creation, economic growth, and a cleaner, more resilient future.”
The selected businesses will benefit from up to five months of customised support provided by experts in finance, technical fields, and gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI). This assistance aims to enhance the companies’ readiness to attract investment and strengthen their overall capacity.
As part of the programme, participants will showcase their projects to climate-focused investors during an investment event scheduled for October 2026. This platform will offer valuable opportunities to engage with potential financiers and receive expert technical feedback on their proposals.
Since its inception in Pakistan, the CFA has supported 22 projects in advancing towards commercial agreements. Notable previous beneficiaries include Davaam Life, Shams Power, Concept Loop, and National Foods.
The businesses selected for the 2026 cohort are Go Seed IT Pvt. Ltd., Biowaste Energy Ventures Pvt. Ltd., Bioenergy Solution Pvt. Ltd., A.S. Enterprises, Trash It, Sahara Recycling Pvt. Ltd., Waste Busters Pvt. Ltd./EnterTech Labs Pvt., EcoEdge AI, Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service Limited, Buscaro Technologies Holding PTE Limited, and Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance.
CFA Pakistan Team Lead Vardah Malik noted that this cohort exemplifies the growing momentum of climate innovation in Pakistan. She described the group as a mix of startups and growth-stage companies operating in sectors vital to sustainable development and climate action. Malik affirmed that the programme would enable these businesses to scale their impact while contributing to both economic progress and environmental sustainability.
