Preparations for the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections have been fully finalized, with polling materials officially distributed to returning officers throughout the region. The Election Commission confirmed that all logistical arrangements are in place to facilitate smooth voting across the 24 constituencies.

Polling is scheduled to occur from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., accommodating over 958,000 registered voters. To support the electoral process, 1,389 polling stations and 2,450 polling booths have been established across Gilgit-Baltistan.

Of these polling booths, 1,112 are reserved for female voters, 1,268 for male voters, and 68 are combined booths serving both genders in various constituencies. This setup aims to ensure accessibility and convenience for all voters.

In a significant development, 404 candidates will compete in the elections, including 396 men and eight women. Notably, a large portion of these candidates—266 in total—are running as independents without political party affiliations.

Election officials have confirmed that all necessary measures have been taken and staff deployed to guarantee an orderly and transparent voting process throughout Gilgit-Baltistan, underscoring the commitment to a fair election.
