PM Directs Legal Framework for Creation of Commercial Courts

The Prime Minister has instructed the government to draft and enact legislation for the formation of commercial courts. This initiative is designed to streamline the resolution of business-related disputes, which often face delays in conventional judicial processes. By introducing specialized courts, the government aims to create a more efficient legal environment for commercial activities.

Commercial courts are expected to handle cases involving trade, contracts, and corporate matters with greater expertise and speed. This move aligns with broader efforts to improve the ease of doing business and attract investment by ensuring timely justice in commercial conflicts. The establishment of these courts could significantly reduce the backlog of cases in regular courts.

In a significant development for the country’s legal and economic landscape, the creation of commercial courts will likely enhance investor confidence and support economic growth. The legislation will provide a structured framework for these courts, ensuring they operate with clear jurisdiction and procedural guidelines. This reform reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing the judicial system to meet the demands of a growing economy.
