The Italian Consulate in Karachi commemorated the 80th anniversary of Italy’s Republic Day, known as La Festa della Repubblica Italiana, with an elegant reception held at the Pearl Continental Hotel. The event drew prominent government figures from Pakistan, reflecting the strong diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Among the distinguished guests were Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, alongside senior officials, diplomats, military personnel, and members of civil society. The gathering highlighted the importance of the occasion and the ongoing collaboration between Italy and Pakistan.
Italian Consul Fabrizio Bielli hosted the event, emphasizing the historical significance of the Italian Republic’s founding. In his remarks, he also pointed to the expanding partnership in trade, commerce, and economic sectors, expressing gratitude to attendees for their role in fostering bilateral relations.
The celebration included a special exhibition showcasing Italy’s renowned achievements in luxury automobiles, fashion, interior design, fragrances, and cuisine. Attendees had the opportunity to admire iconic Italian vehicles such as the Ferrari 488 GTB, Fiat Abarth 595, and Vespa Primavera 150 CC. The display also featured high-end furniture, premium textiles, designer perfumes, and traditional Italian culinary delights.
Notable participants included Faryal Talpur, Azra Pechuho, and Asif Hyder Shah, along with parliamentarians, bureaucrats, and members of the diplomatic corps. Their presence underscored the event’s significance and the strong cultural and political connections between Italy and Pakistan.
The reception concluded with a lucky draw, where selected guests received luxury gift hampers from prestigious Italian brands, adding a festive touch to the occasion.
