Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended Eid ul Adha greetings on Wednesday to the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and various political dignitaries. Through telephone conversations, the prime minister lauded the professionalism of the armed forces and recognized their dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding national security.
He expressed that the nation takes immense pride in its courageous soldiers and their steadfast commitment. Offering prayers for the country’s security, progress, and prosperity, the premier also honored the officers and personnel who continue to serve the motherland even during the Eid celebrations.
The service chiefs responded by thanking the prime minister for his warm wishes and reciprocated with prayers for peace, prosperity, and happiness for him and the entire nation on this festive occasion. They reaffirmed that the Armed Forces of Pakistan remain fully prepared at all times to defend the country’s sovereignty and security.
In addition to the military leadership, the prime minister engaged in separate telephone conversations with senior government officials, constitutional authorities, and political figures to exchange Eid greetings. Among those he contacted were President Asif Ali Zardari, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, and Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Haji Gulbar Khan.
The prime minister also connected with Abdul Aleem Khan of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Khalid Magsi of the Balochistan Awami Party, and Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao of the Qaumi Watan Party to exchange cordial Eid wishes. He prayed to Allah Almighty to bless Pakistan with peace, progress, prosperity, stability, unity, and harmony.
During these discussions, views were exchanged regarding the overall political landscape of the country. The prime minister emphasized the critical importance of effective coordination and cooperation between the federation and the provinces. He assured that the federal government, working closely with all provinces and federating units, will continue to take every possible measure to provide maximum relief and support to the people.
