Pakistan Leaders Emphasize Unity and Sacrifice in Eid ul Adha Messages

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Field Marshal Asim Munir extended heartfelt Eid ul Adha greetings to the nation and the global Muslim community. Their messages focused on enduring themes of faith, sacrifice, unity, and compassion, particularly significant given the escalating tensions in the Middle East.

PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Eid ul Adha embodies the timeless virtues demonstrated by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS), such as faith, selflessness, and compassion. He urged citizens to remember those less fortunate, share the joy of Eid with the needy, and reinforce bonds of unity, brotherhood, and humanitarian service. Furthermore, he expressed solidarity with oppressed Muslims in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, praying for peace, harmony, and prosperity in these troubled regions.

In a significant development, President Asif Ali Zardari highlighted that Eid ul Adha serves as a powerful reminder of obedience to Allah, patience, sincerity, and sacrifice. He underscored that genuine success is rooted in piety, service to others, and empathy rather than material wealth or power. Quoting the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he noted, “The most beloved of people to Allah is the one who is most beneficial to people,” adding that true faith is incomplete if one indulges while their neighbor remains hungry. He stressed that sacrifice must include the deprived, orphans, widows, laborers, disabled individuals, and the underprivileged. President Zardari also called for national unity, tolerance, dialogue, adherence to the rule of law, and public service.

Meanwhile, Field Marshal Asim Munir, accompanied by the Air Chief and Naval Chief, also conveyed Eid greetings through the military’s media wing. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that the armed forces prayed for enduring peace, prosperity, and national unity. They reaffirmed their dedication to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The ISPR further noted that Eid ul Adha symbolizes sacrifice, faith, and unity, paying tribute to the families of martyrs whose sacrifices have fortified the nation’s foundations.
