Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has arrived in Beijing accompanied by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal to engage in a series of high-level discussions, including the China Political Parties Forum and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) consultative mechanism. This visit underscores the ongoing strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.

During the meetings, representatives from twelve Pakistani political parties, notably including the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, will participate in dialogues aimed at enhancing political and economic collaboration. These forums provide a platform for exchanging views on mutual interests and advancing joint initiatives under the CPEC framework.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar highlighted the significant growth in business-to-business cooperation between the two countries, noting that over 500 companies are actively involved in current engagements. The volume of trade and investment between Pakistan and China has surpassed $13 billion, reflecting a robust and expanding economic relationship. Furthermore, more than 300 memorandums of understanding and numerous joint ventures have been formalized, demonstrating the depth of this partnership.

He emphasized that China’s role remains vital in facilitating global trade and that despite facing external economic challenges, Pakistan’s economic indicators are showing encouraging signs of improvement. The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining an open business environment, continuing reforms, and pursuing economic stability to attract further investment and foster sustainable growth.
