Businesswoman Huma Fakhar expressed her honor in returning to Buckingham Palace as an advisory member representing Pakistan for The King’s Trust International. She described the experience as inspiring, meeting a remarkable assembly of global leaders and changemakers, including the Māori Queen of New Zealand, Scandinavian royalty, renowned artists, scientists, entrepreneurs, and educationists. All attendees shared a common dedication to empowering young people worldwide.
Notably, Fakhar highlighted the privilege of meeting His Majesty King Charles III once again, praising his warmth, intelligence, and humility, which leave a profound impact on those who engage with him. This event celebrated 50 years of The King’s Trust’s commitment to supporting youth across the globe.
Founded in 2015 by King Charles III, initially named Prince’s Trust International and later rebranded as The King’s Trust International, the organization operates in over 20 countries spanning Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. Its core mission remains focused on advancing opportunities for young people.
As an advisory member from Pakistan, Fakhar’s responsibilities include strengthening partnerships, raising awareness, and supporting initiatives that foster education, entrepreneurship, and employability for Pakistani youth. The King’s Trust International has been active in Pakistan since 2016, recognizing the country’s vast young population and addressing the barriers many face in accessing quality education and employment.
Collaborating with local partners, the organization emphasizes helping young people to “learn, earn, and thrive” through programs that build confidence, develop leadership, and enhance digital and enterprise skills. Among its key initiatives in Pakistan is Enterprise Challenge Pakistan, delivered in partnership with Seed Ventures, which provides students with essential business and financial literacy training and has already impacted thousands nationwide.
Another significant program is the Achieve Programme, implemented with PAGE Pakistan and supported by entities such as Zindigi/JS Bank. This initiative particularly focuses on empowering underserved girls by promoting education, digital inclusion, and employability skills.
To date, The King’s Trust International’s efforts in Pakistan have benefited nearly 10,000 young people. Looking forward, the organization aims to broaden its impact through increased collaboration with schools, businesses, and local organizations. This expansion aligns with its global goal to help one million young people worldwide secure meaningful employment within the next decade.
