The government has announced that construction work on the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway is scheduled to begin within the current year. This development was shared during a Senate session, highlighting the project’s importance in improving transportation infrastructure in Sindh province. The motorway will connect two major cities, Sukkur and Hyderabad, facilitating smoother and faster travel for commuters and freight transport.

In a significant development for regional connectivity, the motorway is expected to reduce travel time considerably and boost economic activities by linking key industrial and agricultural zones. The project aligns with broader national efforts to upgrade road networks and support trade corridors, which are vital for Pakistan’s economic growth. Additionally, improved infrastructure is anticipated to attract investment and create job opportunities in the region.

Meanwhile, the motorway’s construction is part of a larger strategy to enhance Pakistan’s transport infrastructure, which has been a priority for the government to support sustainable development. The project is also expected to alleviate traffic congestion on existing routes, contributing to safer and more efficient travel. As work commences, stakeholders will be closely monitoring progress to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
