In a significant development at the National Bank Stadium on Thursday, the Pakistan national women’s cricket team dominated Zimbabwe with a 67-run win in the second T20I, securing the three-match series 2-0 with one game remaining.

Batting first under floodlights, Pakistan posted a formidable total of 170 for 4 in their 20 overs. The innings was anchored by an unbeaten 79 from Eyman Fatima, who played a crucial role in stabilizing the innings after early setbacks.

Pakistan faced early pressure, losing two wickets for just 35 runs within the powerplay as Ayesha Zafar and Gull Feroza were dismissed cheaply. The situation further deteriorated when Iram Javed was out for five runs in the seventh over.

However, Eyman Fatima steadied the innings with a 46-run partnership alongside Muneeba Ali, who contributed 36 runs off 33 balls. Later, she forged a vital 78-run stand with Nataliya Pervaiz in just 40 deliveries, propelling Pakistan to a competitive total.

Eyman remained unbeaten on 79 from 43 balls, hitting 10 fours and four sixes, while Nataliya added a brisk 24 runs off 19 balls. Zimbabwe’s bowlers Precious Marange, Lindokuhle Mabhero, and Michelle Mavunga each claimed one wicket.

During Zimbabwe’s reply, they struggled to build momentum and were restricted to 103 for 8 in their 20 overs. Pakistan’s bowlers made early breakthroughs, with Fatima Sana and Tuba Hasan dismantling the top order inside the powerplay, putting the visitors under immediate pressure.

The Zimbabwean side continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, with captain Nomvelo Sibanda remaining unbeaten on 18 runs in a losing cause.

Nashra Sandhu spearheaded Pakistan’s bowling attack, finishing with two wickets as the home team wrapped up a comprehensive and series-clinching victory.
