A cadet from the Pakistan Army has been recognized as the “Overall Best Foreign Military Cadet” at the prestigious Australian Royal Military College (RMC) Duntroon. This accolade underscores the high standards of professionalism, dedication, and leadership exhibited by the junior officers of the Pakistan Army.

Cadet Sardar Arsam Abbas, a member of the 152 Long Course at the Pakistan Military Academy, received this distinguished honor during the passing out parade held on May 5, 2026, at RMC Duntroon in Canberra. The award is presented to the top-performing foreign cadet, reflecting excellence across all aspects of military training.

In a significant development, the commissioning parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General Simon Stuart, AO DSC, the Australian Chief of Army. The event was also attended by members of the diplomatic corps, including Pakistan’s High Commissioner in Canberra, families of the graduating cadets, and officials from the Australian Defence Force.

Notably, Pakistan and Australia maintain a strong military partnership. Since 2013, seven officers from the Pakistan Army have served as platoon commanders at RMC, and 46 Pakistani cadets have graduated from the college since 2009. This occasion marks the 14th time a Pakistani cadet has earned this prestigious distinction.

The legacy of Pakistani cadets at RMC is further honored by Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria Shaheed, Tamgha-e-Basalat, who was martyred on September 4, 2020, in North Waziristan. His name is engraved on the memorial stone at the RMC parade ground, symbolizing the enduring values of bravery, sacrifice, and honor upheld by Pakistani Army officers.
