In a thrilling event at Karate Combat 61 held in Miami, Florida, Pakistan’s rising combat sports talent Shahzaib Rind secured a commanding victory over former UFC competitor Andre Ewell with a knockout in the second round.
Originally scheduled to face Patricky Pitbull, Rind stepped into the fight after Pitbull was sidelined due to injuries sustained in a pre-fight altercation. Despite Ewell accepting the bout on short notice, Rind maintained composure and dominated from the outset.
Throughout the first round, the Quetta-born fighter showcased precise striking and powerful kicks, consistently pressuring his opponent. The decisive moment came in the second round when Rind landed a powerful head kick that floored Ewell, leading the referee to stop the fight immediately.
Notably, Rind earned acclaim not only for his performance but also for his sportsmanship. After the match, he announced his intention to share a portion of his prize money with Ewell, recognizing the latter’s readiness to compete on short notice. “Respect is everything in this game,” Rind emphasized.
As Pakistan’s first Karate Combat world champion, Rind has steadily gained international recognition. His aggressive fighting style and knockout ability have established him as one of Pakistan’s leading figures in the combat sports arena.
