Authorities in Lahore have finalized a comprehensive traffic and parking strategy for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 Final, designed to facilitate smooth vehicular movement and accommodate thousands of cricket enthusiasts expected at the event.
More than 500 traffic wardens will be deployed citywide, supported by 90 inspectors and eight Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), all operating under the guidance of divisional Senior Police Officers (SPs). To combat illegal parking and maintain steady traffic flow, 11 forklifts will also be in service throughout the city.
Five specific parking locations have been designated for spectators, including Government College Gulberg, CBD parking facilities, Sunfort Hotel, and Liberty parking zones. Fans arriving via Ferozepur Road will be directed to turn at Kalma Chowk and proceed to the Gulberg parking area.
Those coming from Defence and Cantt areas will access Liberty parking through Main Boulevard Gulberg, using routes via Hussain Chowk or Sherpao Bridge. Meanwhile, attendees traveling from Mughalpura and Garhi Shahu will be guided to Sunfort Hotel and Liberty parking zones through Main Boulevard Gulberg.
In a significant development, Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi confirmed that no major roads will be closed permanently during the event. Key thoroughfares such as Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, Ferozepur Road, and Main Boulevard Gulberg will remain open to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow across Lahore.
Authorities have urged the public to adhere to the designated routes and cooperate with traffic officials to prevent congestion during the high-profile cricket final.
