Security forces successfully thwarted two infiltration attempts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, eliminating a total of 13 militants in the process. These operations highlight the ongoing efforts to secure the region and prevent unauthorized crossings by hostile elements.
In the Mohmand district, troops detected suspicious movement of a militant group attempting to cross into Pakistan. The forces responded promptly and engaged the militants, resulting in the deaths of eight insurgents. This swift action prevented any breach and reinforced border security in the area.
Meanwhile, in North Waziristan, another infiltration attempt was intercepted following an intense exchange of gunfire. Security personnel managed to neutralize five militants during this confrontation. Following these engagements, clearance operations have been launched in the affected zones to ensure that no remaining threats persist.
These incidents underscore Pakistan’s firm commitment to safeguarding its borders and continuing robust counter-terrorism measures. The national strategy remains focused on eradicating militancy across the country, with security forces maintaining vigilance to prevent any future incursions along the volatile border regions.
