In Bara, a jirga organized by the Bara Siyasi Ittehad on Saturday urged the government to facilitate the prompt and respectful return of residents displaced from Tirah Valley in the Khyber tribal district. The gathering thoroughly examined the prevailing conditions in Tirah Valley and Bara.

Attendees included Bara Siyasi Ittehad President Hashim Khan Afridi, General Secretary Malik Attaullah Afridi, Awami National Party leaders Shireen Afridi and Sadique Chiragh, Fata Qaumi Jirga Chairman Malik Bismillah Afridi, Jamaat-e-Islami representatives Shah Faisal Afridi and Khan Wali Afridi, PPP Khyber President Sher Shah Afridi, PML-N leaders Zahir Shah and Asghar Khan Afridi, along with other tribal elders.

The speakers highlighted the prolonged suffering of displaced Tirah residents, who have endured homelessness, insecurity, and severe difficulties despite their cooperation with state authorities and their enduring patience and sacrifices. Khan Wali Afridi notably pointed out that these individuals remain deprived of fundamental human, constitutional, and tribal rights.

He emphasized the urgent need to restore law and order in the region, ensure the dignified return of displaced families, and promptly fulfill the commitments made by the provincial government. Other participants stressed that effective and practical steps are crucial to resolving the challenges faced by the displaced and to guarantee access to essential services.

Concluding the jirga, a declaration was issued by the Bara Siyasi Ittehad president, announcing that a final decision regarding a planned protest in Peshawar will be made following a consultative meeting scheduled for the upcoming Saturday. He expressed gratitude to all participants for their active engagement and underscored the importance of unity and solidarity moving forward.
