Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi faced harassment from a group of overseas Pakistanis, reportedly supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in central London. The incident occurred near Edgware Road, where video footage circulated widely on social media showed members of the Insaf Students Federation (ISF), affiliated with PTI, surrounding Ashrafi during his walk.

The group followed him for approximately ten minutes, engaging in a tense verbal confrontation. Ashrafi described the episode as an attack and harassment while he was heading for dinner accompanied by female members. He strongly condemned the behavior, labeling it as unacceptable and vowed not to be intimidated by what he termed “thuggish conduct.”

In a significant development, Ashrafi criticized those involved, stating that their actions had inflicted considerable harm on Imran Khan and the PTI party. Meanwhile, he reiterated his firm support for Pakistan’s current government, highlighting that its policies have improved the nation’s international reputation.

Notably, Ashrafi also commended Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling him a prominent leader for Pakistan and the broader Muslim community. He expressed pride in defending both civilian and military leadership amid the controversy.
