In a landmark achievement, Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) announced the successful launch of the country’s indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite (EO-3) from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre (TSLC) in China on Saturday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted that this launch marks a crucial advancement in Pakistan’s pursuit of technological self-sufficiency and excellence. The EO-3 satellite is expected to deliver high-resolution imaging data that will transform urban planning, disaster response, food security, and environmental conservation efforts across the nation.

Furthermore, the deployment of EO-3 will lay the foundation for an integrated Earth Observation System designed to support national priorities across various sectors, thereby fostering sustainable socio-economic development.

In a significant development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the dedication and expertise of Suparco’s engineers and scientists on this historic occasion. He also expressed gratitude for the steadfast support from China, Pakistan’s reliable partner, particularly in the domain of space technology.

Notably, earlier this year in February, Suparco had successfully launched Pakistan’s second indigenous Electro-Optical satellite from the Yangjiang Seashore Launch Centre in China, further strengthening the country’s capabilities in space technology.
