Islamabad on Wednesday firmly rejected India’s accusations connecting Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack, labeling them as unfounded propaganda. Pakistan called on New Delhi to act responsibly and refrain from measures that could jeopardize ongoing regional peace initiatives.
In an official statement, the Foreign Office emphasized that while Pakistan, alongside international partners, is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to promote peace both regionally and globally, it is regrettable that India has once again chosen to push a narrative aimed at implicating Pakistan in the incident. The statement criticized India for attempting to exploit this false narrative for domestic political gains amid a sensitive regional context.
Highlighting a pattern of repeated allegations, Pakistan noted that such claims have become a recurring tactic, which fails to divert global attention from the realities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Pakistan reiterated concerns over the denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as outlined in United Nations resolutions.
Furthermore, the Foreign Office accused India of destabilizing regional peace through provocative rhetoric, persistent provocations, and aggressive military actions. It specifically condemned India’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, describing this move as a breach of international law.
Pakistan expressed hope that the international community will encourage India to exercise restraint and avoid inflammatory language or actions that could undermine ongoing efforts aimed at securing peace and stability in the region and beyond.
