Meanwhile, law enforcement officials reported the suspension and arrest of a police officer accused of assaulting a relative of the affected family. District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur assured that action would be taken against those involved.
A case has been registered against seven police personnel, including a check post in-charge, for allegedly assaulting relatives of the victims. Havaldar Yousaf and six others face charges related to the incident. The main accused was arrested under sections 337, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code and later remanded to judicial custody by a senior civil judge in Haripur.

A video circulated on social media showed Yousaf claiming innocence and accusing police officials of arresting him before he escaped custody. However, authorities clarified that the video was recorded prior to his arrest and confirmed that the officer is now in custody.
A police spokesperson reiterated that the law applies equally to everyone, confirming the registration of a formal FIR and ongoing legal proceedings.
